Renata Lorenc is an award-winning publicist and accomplished producer who grew up in Sydney, Australia and has since traversed the globe numerous times on behalf of the some of the most groundbreaking and provocative independent films being created today.

A visionary from a young age, Renata began making films while still in her teens. Her work with non-profit group Metro Screen http://www.metroscreen.org led to her films being aired on TV and in theaters in Sydney. Renata then completed a degree in Bachelor of Arts from Sydney University majoring in European Studies and Government.

Renata started her career in magazine publishing as an Account Manager for Fairfax Business Publications ( FBP) within John Fairfax Holdings, Australia's largest publishing company. FBP included the titles The Australian Financial Review and BRW Media, which includes BRW, Personal Investor and Shares MIS Australia, CFO Australia, and Business Online. Her work in publishing and sales led her to an ongoing role as a contributing writer and photographer for the magazine Independent Film Quarterly www.independentfilmquarterly.com, the leading magazine for film buffs and industry professionals.

In 2001, Renatarelocated to New York and branched out into the marketing arena. She became marketing director of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival www.nyfilmvideo.com, where she was responsible for generating buzz, branding corporate sponsors to the in on behalf of the Festival’s major sponsors, including Samsung, Sony Vaio Cablevision, Anheuser World Select, JetBlue, Biotherm and Stoli Vodka for product placement and events. While with the festival, Renata also coordinated award evaluation for more than 10,000 features, shorts and documentary entries.

While at the NYIIFVF, Renata became fascinated with the sales and distribution aspect of the film business. She was part of the inaugural team for the sales and film distribution company ITN Distribution www.itndistribution.com. Already an experienced feature film sales representative, she gained notoriety in film circles for her tireless work to expand the reach of ITN Distribution’s vast library of over 500 films into the international marketplace. She was responsible for negotiating, licensing and selling ITN Distribution films all over the world, in such territories as diverse as Germany, Thailand, Spain, Japan, Israel and Australia. She attended all the major film markets including AFM, NATPE, MIP and Cannes. She scored a coup with the Action movie Aussie Park Boyz, which was made for $30,000 and was acquired by Lions Gate and is now available at Blockbuster. Dust to Dust, a documentary on asbestos poisoning, also rose to prominence thanks to Renata’s advocacy, with screenings on Starz Encore.

More recently, she produced the short film Delivia’s Two Brothers starring actress/socialite Elizabeth Kiesselstein Cord (star of Deconstructing Harry) and Cameron Douglas that aired on the E! Network, as well as the edgy, short film Making a Living starring , Written and Directed by Sundance Film Festival alumni Mark Mann. Making a Living was well-received at festival and toured the global film festival circuit.

This wealth of experience and contacts in the marketing and distribution sectors led to demand for Renata to begin managing publicity for the films she handled. To meet this demand, Renata formed RULA PR (www.rulapr.com) in January 2005 and has implemented successful PR campaigns and..She produced many high-profile events including, Nightclub openings, launch parties, awards shows and film festival events. She was involved in producing Liberace Emmy Gifting Suite with A list celebrities of the industry including Britney Spears’ visit which was featured on Extra and Access. She helped obtain coverage from In Touch, Life & Style, Us Weekly, Star BeverlyHillsPeople.com and InStyle.com. She also worked with Madison & Mulholland at the 2007 Haven House Oscars Gifting suite. That was featured in the NY TIMES and had Dove and Sony amongst its sponsors.

Since founding RULA PR, Renata has designed and implemented over 50 film publicity and public relations campaigns. She specializes in experiential PR produced red-carpet premieres, organized press junkets and tours, industry panels, award shows. She helped produce theatrical premieres in New York and Los Angeles for such films as theatrical premiere of Great New Wonderful, a moving ensemble drama featuring A-listers including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tony Shalhoub, Eddie Falco, Judy Greer and Olympia Dukakis. Directed by Danny Leiner ( Dude Wheres my car? The New Yorker called this film "The first great film about 9/11.", Edmond Virgin starring Robyn Wright Penn, and the Independent Film Spirit favorite film Funny Ha Ha. She has created large sales and publicity campaigns for dozens of independent films such as Pot Luck starring Jason Isaacs and Frank Adonis, Drop Dead Roses starring Brian OHalloran (of Clerks fame) worldwide at Cannes Film Festival in France and the AFM in California. She also handled the publicity for award-winning movie Stripped Down starring Ian Ziering (of Beverly Hills 90210) that had its European premiere in the Monaco Charity Film Festival www.monacocharityfilmfestival.com that selects with films of social consciousness and is supported by Prince Albert of Monaco and was acquired by Dream Entertainment www.dreamentertainment.net

Her expertise is not limited to film, however. Renata also handles publicity, events and marketing for a variety of clients in the fashion, beauty and performing arts fields. She has handled parties for Alisha Keys, produced a Plus size fashion show in New York with Curvestyles and worked on various Beauty and fashion clients.

She has also completed training in acting, and screen writing at HB Studio New York. She also speaks conversational Polish and French and likes yoga and vegetarian food.
